ADVANTAGES
?Wooden buildings have a very long lasting tradition in Poland. In many places little churches remembering medieval times or thatched huts from the end of the 18th century have been preserved to our days. One of the oldest is a wooden church in Haczów, over 600 years old. In a place Chrystkowo near Bydgoszcz a house built in 1770 has been preserved in a very good condition.
1. LOW EXECUTION COSTS (lower than for the traditional system):
- the amount of wood needed to construct a traditional rafter framing in a brick house often is not much smaller than the amount of wood needed to build a complete house of the same area in the light frame technology;
- weight of house is smaller, thus its foundations and transport of materials to the building site cost less;
- thickness of outer walls is smaller, thus wooden houses of the same outer dimensions have a bigger living room than the ones of bricks. (For example: a one-storey wooden house of total living room of 100 sqm is bigger inside by 10 to 12 sqm than a brick-made house of the same outer dimensions – this additional living room is worth PLN 10,000 to 20,000).
2. LOW USAGE COSTS – ENERGY SAVING – very good thermal insulation, difficult to achieve for the similar price in other technologies (due to the use of natural properties of wood and modern insulating materials, our houses feature with a low overall heat-transfer coefficient, below u=0.25).
3. DURABILITY (200 years and more) achieved thanks to:
- advanced wood obtaining technology, its processing and protection against diseases and natural pests;
- modern building system (ensuring a long usage period);
- stable and durable construction;
- use of high-quality up-to-date materials developed by worldwide recognised companies.
4. SHORT EXECUTION TIME (from 6 days to 1 month for less advanced designs, up to 4 months for more advanced project) achieved thanks to:
- using so-called “dry” technology, where erection of the house structure is reduced to assembling the elements joined with nails and metal joints (technological breaks are not necessary);
- possibility to build even in winter – apart from the construction of foundations, a wooden house does not require any “wet” works like concrete lying and bricklaying which may be done in temperatures above zero only.
5. EASY REBUILDING AND MODERNISATION
- wide possibilities for reconstruction of a house of originally small living room;
- easy replacement of all installations with more modern ones;
- unlimited possibilities to create a building of any size, any function and any architectonic design.
6. HEALTH AND COMFORT – for ages wood has been the most friendly building material for a human being:
- it creates favourable microclimate;
- it has excellent acoustic properties to protect against noise;
- it has excellent insulation properties;
7. ECOLOGY: we use healthy, natural materials like wood, plaster, mineral wool (materials meeting the most strict European ecological standards only are used for construction).
